La Mer – The Perfect Prescription

“The cure for anything is salt water – sweat, tears, sea” – Isak Dinesen

The beach makes all the troubles go away. It’s like the ultimate cure, well especially for my rhinitis, cos the saltwater manages to de-clog the sinuses (like nasal spray but only better).

Although, I can’t consider it medicine because I’m quite allergic to seawater, which has something to do with sea bather’s eruption resulting to me having mad reactions and breakouts of rashes and hives after taking a short dip at the beach. Despite all that, hives and sneezing and everything in between,  I can’t seem to stay away from the sea.

Of course, growing up in an island, with white sand beaches and pristine waters on all sides, it’s impossible for me not to have an affinity with the deep blue. It’s like programmed in our blood or something.

So, even if I’m a city girl through and through, every once in a while, a part of my soul yearns for the sea. Of course, when that yearning arises, I always remember to take pictures.

Surf’s up!
