Good Food. Good Company. Who can say no to that? Not me, that’s for sure. Thankfully, Brique definitely did not disappoint. The interiors were gorgeous, the staff gracious, the service exemplary. The food? Excellent.
Simple, classic comfort food served up with flair. You can never go wrong with good food and Brique did everything right. While I was lucky enough to try several items on the menu, the standouts were:
• Truffled Shoestring Potatoes with Bacon Bits, Grated Parmesan, Fried Basil, Sour Cream Dip, Sriracha Mayo Dip and the Kitchen Sink. Seriously, I could have this starter all day, every day. [Php250]
• Beef Bulgogi Sandwich. Wheat panini, tender beef strips, kimchi coleslaw, sriracha mayo and I have no idea what else because the whole thing was scarfed down instantly (sans plate of course) before notes were taken down. [Php185]
• Not a dessert fan but the DCC (Don’t Count Calories) cake was really interesting. Thumbs up for creativity and originality. A chunk of Ube Cake with Mango ice cream and halo-halo toppings. It would be safe to call it a Halo-Halo Cake. Hella Good Halo-Halo! [Php190]
The typography chalk art on the wall were a nice touch, very hip. The lightings, furniture and fixtures complemented the wood and concrete concept perfectly. I love the floor-to-ceiling wine rack, a great focal point and conversation piece. It was the little details that really got to me – the engraving on the menu and the bar, the little potted green centerpieces, the shelving in the bathroom and everything else. Bravo Brique! Thanks for the invite and the experience. Will be back for sure. Would I be out of line to request an exclusive table just for me? No? Haha

They made this really cool Ube Cake, with coconut filling, mango ice cream on the side with cornflakes and beans. It’s their take on the Halo-Halo
